Over 100,000 people from all over the world will participate to the coming 2019 edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry. It’s the largest and most famous trade fair event held in Barcelona every year. Simona Hughes, a marketing manager for a company based in California, was one of the over 100,000 participants at MWC last year. She came to Barcelona last year to attend MWC for her company. It was the third time in a row she participated to a MWC edition and despite that she never had the time to see Barcelona as the Mobile World Congress venue is located outside the city, near the airport. As she loves traveling and also shooting pictures being an enthusiast photographer, she managed to spend an additional day in town after MWC was over before flying back to the States.
Before coming to Barcelona she googled for a photo tour in Barcelona and met Barcelona Photowalk. I arranged an afternoon photo tour for her in the old town. This time, Simona was able to use her reflex camera that she always brought with her for all the three MWC editions she attended to! We met in the central located Plaza Catalunya square and talked for a while about photography and desired subjects she wanted take pictures of. I brought her to discover some picturesque corners of the not touristic at all Raval district before heading to the Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of Barcelona. As a smart and very curious person, Simona took hundreds of pictures of the locations I let her to discover. She had particular eye for details and original point of views of buildings, alleys or squares we visited. She really loved Barcelona and the 3-hour photo tour as she was able finally to see the city where she came in for three times without getting any chance to explore it so far. If you are attending the 2019 edition of Mobile World Congress and you want to do an original activity while in town, think about a photo tour to discover Barcelona, one of the most beautiful European cities. You can take some great pictures even with your smartphone. I will give some useful tips to increase your creativity in terms of composition and shooting images while you’ll enjoy a photo tour in Barcelona.
